Thunder and lightning arrive together: power and clarity at full strength. Feng is the peak, a moment of abundance, achievement and brilliance. Like the noon sun, it cannot last; the sun begins to set the moment it reaches the top. The hexagram's advice is not to grieve over this, but to shine fully while you can and to act with clarity and justice.

Commentary
Movement (thunder) above clarity (fire): energy and insight combined at their height. Feng describes times of great fullness, such as success, prosperity or intense creative or social life. The judgment's advice is striking: don't be sad. The awareness that such moments pass can spoil them, but the wise person is like the midday sun and simply shines on everything.
The lines are full of images of darkness at noon: curtains and screens that block the light even at the brightest hour. Abundance can be obscured by excess, isolation or the wrong company. The image links fullness with justice: use clear sight to settle matters fairly. In relation to a question, Feng may emphasize making the most of a high point, generosity and clear judgment.
